Tradition Ruahan

Ruahan is one of the traditions that exist in the Indonesia. Muslim communities in Blora regency, Central Java also carry Ruahan tradition, which has run down through the generations since time immemorial. Tradition is held once a year. Ruahan tradition held one month before the coming of Ramadhan or the 1st of Ramadhan (month date calculation ).

1st of Ramadhan 1432 Hijr date falling on July 1, 2011. That tradition ended on July 31, 2011 or one day before the month of Ramadan. Tradition called Ruahan before the fasting month of opening. While the tradition is carried on the Ruahan latest day fasting is called closing.

Ruahan is almost equal to tahlilan, because the prayers are read in almost the same. The difference is only at the time and destination. Ruahan conducted at one month before the month of Ramadan until one day before the month of Ramadhan and implemented as an expression of gratitude to Allah SWT with the coming of the holy month of Ramadhan. While tahlilan usually performed on a typical day and are usually held on Friday, with the aim of gratitude for the fortune that was given by Allah SWT. Another purpose is to pray and brothers who have died.

The tradition began with the Ruahan in women who are in a family get together to cook together. They cooked in a considerable portion. The food they cook is usually in the form of: rice, chicken soto, lodeh, chicken opor, traditional foods such as apem and others. Noon or early afternoon, the women will bring the food to be given to neighbors around the house and a brother or sister.

Toward the evening or after Maghrib prayer they will hold the "invitation". In the event the men are invited to come to the homes of people who are carry out Ruahan. And they all prayed together to Allah SWT as gratitude for the coming holy month of Ramadan. In addition they also pray for those who hold a celebration event in order to get a plentiful fortune.

But if in the event closing people just held an "kondangan". And there are some people who hold the closing ceremony of Ramadhan with food and gathered at the mosque. After all the food collected, then everyone will pray and say gratitude because it can carry out the obligation of fasting smoothly.

Hopefully this tradition can be run continuously, because of this tradition can reduce the social gap that now frequently occurs. And increase the sense of mutual help, mutual respect, mutual respect, an attitude of mutual aid and love each other.
I love the tradition of Indonesia!
